Philip founded RobertsLaw in Mudgeeraba over 41 years ago and since that time has worked tirelessly within the Gold Coast community. As a Senior Solicitor, Philip has extensive experience in many practice areas including Retirement Centre Leases, Business Law, Succession Planning and Conveyancing.
As a Notary Public Philip is also required to uphold the utmost level of integrity, veracity and probity, which directly translates to the work he does on behalf of his clients.
Philip uses his decades of experience to deliver commercial solutions for the firm’s clients no matter how complex the matter may seem.
Philip has held various roles within the community, including being a foundation member of the Mudgeeraba Chamber of Commerce. Philip is a past President of the Gold Coast District Law Association and was co-founder of the Gold Coast Community Legal Advice Centre, with the Dean of Law of Bond University. He was one of the founders of the Bond University Rugby Club in 1989. He was also a co-founder of the Mudgeeraba Rotary Club and Emmanuel College, Carrara. Philip served on the Board of King’s Christian College as Chairman for 8 years. Philip is also past President of the Gold Coast Bridge Club.

Tony Roberts

AR (Tony)Roberts has joined our law practice as Special Counsel.
Tony is our Principal’s, Philip Roberts, brother and brings to our clients a fabulous depth of experience in both the legal and business fields, as a lawyer and former business owner.
He began practice in 1969 and was admitted to Partnership at Morris Fletcher and Cross (MF&C), now Minter Ellison, in 1972. He remained a Partner of MF&C for 19 years, resigning to become joint Managing Director of a large private company. After that, Tony spent a further 5 years practicing law before venturing into his own business interests where he remained for approximately 25 years, mainly in the retirement village sector.
As a lawyer, Tony specialised firstly in succession law and then taxation and corporate law, with specific interests in media law and the sugar industry.
Amanda Tomlinson

Amanda has 20 years’ experience with RobertsLaw as a Solicitor practicing in Family and Estate Law. As one of only a handful of dual Accredited Specialists in Queensland, Amanda has assisted many clients from the local and wider community achieve the very best outcomes available to them. This dual accreditation is of significant value to our clients because of the interaction between both family and succession law.
Amanda provides a personal and tailored approach to all of her clients and, whilst she has a particular interest in complex Family Law property matters, and complex Deceased Estates, she has achieved equitable legal solutions in all facets for many of our clients. You would be wise to seek Amanda’s specialties on:
- Binding Financial Agreements and Consent Orders;
- Family Provision Claims and Applications; and
- Succession Planning.
After completing a dual Bachelor of Laws (Honours) / Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree, Amanda undertook a Post-Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at Bond University and was admitted as a legal practitioner in both the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2005.
Amanda has served on the Management Committee of My Community Legal Inc and is a member of the Queensland Law Society, Family Law Practitioner’s Association of Queensland, Gold Coast District Law Association and My Community Legal Inc.
