Buying at Auction?

A Gold Coast couple was forced by the Court to never have legally owned a home they purchased at auction, 5 years ago!

The problem arose because the 83-year-old Seller alleged her property had been fraudulently mortgaged by relatives, as security for loans upon which they defaulted, and the Court accepted her evidence.

The Seller sued the Mortgagees who had sold her house, listed on court documents as several different entities.

In the end, the Seller kept her house and the poor Buyers had to sue the Mortgagees to recover their purchase price.

One very important lesson from this nightmare is always engage RobertsLaw BEFORE buying at auction and have us search the Title to the property, before the auction!
